Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are with family and friends today. I have a lot to be thankful for today and every day. My friend from church Magen challanged us to post 1. Our food contribution for today and 2. What we are really thankful for. Sooo.... 1. I am taking chicken and dumplings (yes homemade) to my mother in laws and also, my children requested Town House Restarants broc and cheese cassarole. 2. I am thankful that we live in a free country, where we can worship God anytime and not be afraid. I am also thankful for my physical family and also for my church family. Our good health is something to be thankful for too. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving, don't forget to count your blessings! :)
More later! Go Cowboys!!!!!

WOW What a Weekend!!!!!!

Oh my goodness! I think God is great! I went with 8 other ladies from my church to a Baptist Women's Conference this weekend in Jackson, MS. It was an Extraordinary Women's Conference. And we heard some amazing worship music, they sang some contempary songs, some old hymns and even some accapella. It was wonderful. There were over 3,ooo ladies singing our hearts out to God! It was amazing! We sang Days of Elizaha( ok, I can't spell, so just bear with me) and In Christ Alone which are 2 of my very favorite songs. If you aren't familiar with the words, please find them, esp. In Christ Alone. Every time I hear/sing it I get chills and sometimes I even raise up my hands during that one and cry!!!! If I knew how to link it to my blog I would. We laughed, cried, and worshipped. We had some really great speakers, Chonda Pierce is quite funny and also gets her message across, Angela Thomas had lots of great things to say, so did Mama T (Thelma Wells). We had music by Avalon on Friday night and Mark Shultz on Saturday morning. But drum roll please....... Karen Kingsbury was also a guest speaker. If you have never heard of her or read her Christian fiction books you are missing out. OK, so I knew she was speaking on Saturday and I was excited, but at the closing Fri night the church invited us down to purchase items and meet the speakers...... I thought I was so cool, but the closer I got to her(Karen Kingsbury) the more excited I got. I think my ladies from church were worried I might get escourted out by the security. Ha Ha! But when it was my turn I did give her a great big, long, hard hug. And told her my name, where I was from and that I was spreading the good news of her books to lots of people I meet. So, she gave me one of her tote bags and signed it for me. It reads: Tina, You and I are BFF's for life. Love, Karen Kingsbury Jer 29:11. Can you believe it?!? She was so very nice. And she looks just like the pic on the back of her books. By this time it was like 11:45pm. But she took the time to meet her fans and sign their books. Which I did not buy, because I have read them all. But, she has a new one out on Tues. :). Her books truly are a blessing, so check them out. Also, the 9 of us got our pic taken with her and we are going to blow it up and hang it in our library. This was supposed to be a short blog, but as you can see, I am so excited. We got maybe 4 hours of sleep last night, so I really need to get to bed. My family is already snoozing. Have a great night and a wonderful Lord's Day.....

PS. I am writting this on Sun. night.... I really misspelled Elijah last night, also the time on my posts is not right, I don't know how to fix it. It was funny when I reread it today and said that my whole family was snoozing and the time of my post said something like 8:31. It was more like 10:45. So anyway, just wanted to clarify those 2 items. Has anyone else out there had to change their wording because you just couldn't spell a word? I hope I'm not the only one... :) Love to everyone and good night!

something funny-Ha Ha!

Are ya'll ready for a good laugh??? On Monday I started a new adult Jazz class at our local dance studio. Ha Ha! There were about 10 of us there, 2 friends from church. It was really a lot of fun. We did a lot of kicks and strecthing. I have been a little sore the past 2 days. So who knows, maybe I'll lose a little weight while I'm doing this. There will be NO pictures of me in class, and there will NOT be a recital. Several "friends" have asked what color my costume will be. On a side note the girl that is my teacher in this jazz class was born while I was taking dance classes from her mother when I was a young girl. I'll let ya know how it goes. Have a great week. I'm trying to get ready for Lacey's bday party of Friday. Blessings to all!

I know, I know it's been too long :)

Hi everyone,
I always hated reading a blog looking for an update and never finding one. And now I'm one of those bloggers who hardly ever update. Sorry! I would like to say I have the most wonderful, thoughtful friends though! My b-day was last week and I got so many well wishes and cards. I felt very loved so Thanks! I love my Christian friends, you are all such a blessing. Everything here seems to be going good. Soccer is in full swing, so is dance for Lacey. She will be turning 8 on Friday. It's hard to believe my kids are getting so much older. Maybe by the time I take pics at Lacey's party I will find that disk with Tyler's party pics--we'll see. I would love to post some new pics. We started 40 days of prayer at our church yesterday. I did not do very well with this last year, so I'm hoping to do better. I got the kids involved last night and it was so sweet to hear them reading the prayers that so many of our church is praying right now. All those prayers going up together as a church family is pretty amazing and powerful. Hope you have a wonderful blessed day!
More later :)

Just checking in....

So, is every one else out there really busy right now?!? I don't think I've crammed so much stuff into such a short amount of time. Every thing is good though. We've had soccer, dance, birthday parties, pta meetings, fundraising, and the list goes on and on. We also had parent/teacher conferences last week. I like to think that my kids are smart and sweet, but it's nice when you hear it from their teachers. They are both doing well in school and I couldn't be any prouder of them. Tyler has his first soccer game this Thurs. so maybe I'll post some pics. I have misplaced (lost) my last picture cd. So when I find it, there may be some cute pictures to post, it seems like there were some I wanted to add. Tyler told me about 3 weeks ago that he wanted a suprise B Day party this year. Which is kind of hard to give once you ask for it. But we suprised him a week early with a sleepover. Rob took him to rent a game and while they were out I went and picked up 5 friends. They played Rock Band for hours and had a great time. We also roasted marshmallows and had a camp fire at Granddaddy and Granny's house. The boys loved it. Tyler will be 11 on Saturday. :) OK so anyway, hope ya'll have a great week. I'll post more soon. Sorry for all the rambling, but I wanted to say hi to everyone and catch you up.

Cardboard Testimonies

Tonight at our youth council meeting some people were talking about a powerful event that is taking place at some churches. It's called cardboard testimonies. They even did it at chapel at Harding this week. If you'd like to check it out go to you tube and type in "cardboard testimonies". Get your tissues out, it made me cry. But it was a really interesting way to see how you can overcome sin and meet some people with the same struggles you may be facing. I'm going back to watch some more, just wanted to pass this along. :)

From Tyler

I am a 10 year old boy who loves playing video games with friends, soccer, and takwondo. I am having a great 5th grade school year.

From Lacey

I am a 7 year old girly girl. I like to dance, dress up and play with my friends. I' m having a great 2nd grade year.

Allowance or no allowance that is the question

Hey friends, I'm asking for your help. Rob and I have talked about it and aren't sure how we feel about allowances. When he was growing up he did not get one. My parents would give me money sometimes, but not every week. We don't give money for report cards or other achievements, but I think it would be fun for my kids to have money of their own sometimes. So what do you think? One friend is considering giving a small amount for each AR book read for school. But I'm just not sure. So give me your opinions please.

My first post

Yea, I'm so excited I love to read blogs so now I'm finally doing my own. Check back later for more news on me and my family. :)
